Windy and surprisingly mild
Once the southwesterly winds crank up later on Monday, they're in for most of the week, reaching gale force at times in some exposed areas.
As a frontal zone waves northwards and southwards across the country, so the areas of wettest weather change, but western upslopes are likely to see the highest totals.
Very mild air to the south of the frontal zone has potential to produce daytime temperatures in the high teens and some exceptionally mild nights, while cooler air makes occasional inroads across the north.
That's more likely at the end of the week, as the weather patterns begin to move southwards.

The Lost Boys Trailer (1987)
1.At what point in the trailer are we told the name of the film? Why is this?
We are first given the name of the film towards the end (at 1:18 into the trailer) I believe that this is because the audience have been enticed to go and see the film by all the action happening throughout the trailer and will want to know the name therefore by giving the name at the very end they will not forget it.
2.Why are we told who is starring in the film? How is this information given to us?
We are not told who is starring in the film until the very end however this is an 80's film and from the trailer we can clearly see that it stars Kiefer Sutherland, Corey Haim, Corey Feldman and Jason Patric who were all well known actors at the time therefore the audience would not have needed to be told their names.
3.What type of action from the film do we see?
The beginning of the trailer shows an outdoor concert crowded with people however the cameras focus is mainly on Michael and Sam and for a brief moment on Star. We are then shown a couple in a car making out until the roof of their car is torn off by an unknown force. Sam is then shown in a comic book store speaking to two boys (the Frog brothers) who tell him that Santa Carla is crawling with vampires. We then return to the car where only the girl is left clinging to the remains of the car and screaming as a point of view shot zooms into her from above, giving the impression that something is flying down to her, she is then pulled into the sky by the unseen force. Michael is then shown along with David and the other vampires dangling from a train track as a train goes over it, David then lets go and falls. A shot of Nunuk snarling at Michael as Michael growls back at him. Throughout the rest of the trailer we see Michael and Sam dealing with the fact that Michael has been turned into a vampire. Towards the end of the trailer we start to see shots of the vampires being killed in gruesome ways for example being drowned in holy water.
4.What clues does the music give us as to what type of film the trailer is advertising?
Throughout the trailer the song 'People are strange' by Echo and the bunnymen is played. This represents the plot as the lyrics are 'people are strange, when you're a stranger' this in my belief is a good representation of the characters of Sam and Michael as they are strangers in this town and the people seem strange and strange things happen. It does not give a direct indication however that it is advertising a horror film, however the song does have quite an eerie mysterious sense to it.
5.What can you say about the voice of the person delivering the voice-over? Why do you think this voice was chosen? What effect does it have?
The person giving the voice-over has quite a raspy voice that almost sounds like he is growling, I think this was chosen as it creates a creepy atmosphere as it is quite like how people would expect a vampire to sound in the 80's before vampires became popular in the naughties and were seen as pleasant creatures who sparkle.
6.How does the speed of what we see compare to watching a clip from a film? Why is this? Does the speed alter through the trailer or stay the same?
The speed of this trailer is quite fast as they jump from scene to scene in an attempt to fit the film into one small trailer. The majority of the trailer is fast paced for the scary parts however the pace slows down when information is given, for example when Sam is speaking to the Frog brothers.
7.What information are we given in the very last frame of the trailer?
In the very last frame of the trailer we given the names of the production company etc.

Katie Cooke: Ex patient of Dr. Corté’s
She was a popular young teenager that had recently suffered from abuse from her parents. She seeked advice and guidance from the friendly family Doctor. Little did she know that the “friendly” doctor would soon turn on her.
Emily Stonem: A smart teenager who recently suffered serious depression from drug abuse, she has gone crazy as an affect. She does not know what to do or who to see for help. She wanders into the local village’s doctor. She soon realised that the “friendly” doctor was not so friendly.
Cassie Fitch: After a relationship breakdown and bullying in school, Cassie decides that she wishes to end her life. After being stopped by her parents (against her will,) they sign her up to see the family Doctor. She soon realises that the Doctor has worse plans for her.
Doctor Corté: He is a “friendly family” doctor from the local village, he is of Spanish decent (hence the name.) He has photos of his ex-patients in his office which he “treated.” He has grown up a sick and twisted man.

We are producing a new horror/thriller film which will have the target audience of teenagers and adults. I believe that this target audience will be most suited to our genre of film as some modern psychological horrors (such as the SAW) are already popular within our target audience. I think our film should be classed as an 15 to an 18 due to the violent gore that will be featured. Also, the jumpy scenes may scare a younger audience. I believe that this target audience will also be the ones most likely to come and watch the film as my research shows me that 15-24 year olds represent the largest percentage of cinema goers (around 40%)
We will be producing a new horror film the plot will be;
“Somewhere in a small, quiet village in the north of England a sick and twisted psychologist tampered with the minds of innocent young vulnerable girls in need of help. Three college students Katie, Cassie and Emily all have their own personal problems and in desperate need of someone’s help, however they turn to the wrong man to tend to their needs.
Emily and Katie are ex patients of the disturbed Dr Corte however the public are lead to believe they were too troubled to save, little did they know Dr Corte liked to violently torture the messed up girls and use them as his little puppets. Cassie, Dr Corte new patient has continuous night terrors concerning two girls. When Cassie first meets the Dr she notices numerous photos on his wall in his office of young girls who resemble the girls from her nightmares, when questioned who they were the Dr responds his ex patients, sparking concern for Cassie as to why she’s seeing them on a night time, suicidal, Cassie becomes extremely confused and delirious. Has the doctor got into her mind as well? Is she the doctor’s new little doll to play with?
Cassie, sleepwalking one night finds herself walking down the corridor of the Dr’s sick clinic and winds up finding the two ex patients of the Dr’s tied up in bed. Releasing the girls which don’t seem to be human more ghostly they try to escape the sickening torture of the repulsive Dr and end up in a near by forest. Now it’s three against one, in a wood alone, who’s going to make it?”

Our film package shall resemble any normal high budget film, however, our budget will be much smaller and hopefully create a larger profit for the distribution company. Our budget shall be around £35,000. This is a very small amount for a stereotypical horror film.
In terms of the production of our film, we want the film to resemble the new popular kind of horror films. The “shaky” camera feel from films such as “The Blair Witch Project” and “Cloverfield.”
The locations of our film shall take place in a ward (in a hospital) to capture the psychological feel of the film, as hospitals are socially linked to horror films. Also, we shall use a location in the woods. This is also the capture the stereotypical horror convention. We shall film at dusk, this is also the capture the horror convention. Our posters and billboard pictures shall take place in this location too.
